Elakkiya

Elakkiya lives in Sanjeevirayan Kovil village with her husband, son, and daughter. Having studied up to the 10th standard, she was determined to support her family through honest and consistent work. Together with her husband, she has been running a small hotel, which serves as their primary livelihood.

Seeking to strengthen their income, Elakkiya joined a Joint Liability Group and began availing financial support, starting with a ₹15,000 loan. With disciplined repayment and growing confidence, she recently accessed a ₹40,000 personal loan from Valar 2010 Mutual Benefit Trust. She invested this amount in expanding her hotel, improving its operations and customer service.

The expansion has significantly increased her earnings. Today, Elakkiya earns a daily profit of ₹2,000, enabling her to comfortably meet her children’s educational needs and manage household expenses with confidence. The improved income has brought greater stability and security to her family.
